LED Bulbs

I am on the hunt for LED bulbs, specifically 1141 and 1383 types. I do not want to rewire the fixtures but to use the bulbs in existing fixtures. I have been looking online and am somewhat frustrated. Has anyone out there found a great online source?
Thanks in advance!!

I bought my 48 LED panels with 3 adapters each for about 90 cents each and they work just fine.

No it hasn't.....with qualifications.

I too got ones that cost about $1.50 each and they have been doing fine.

If you had gotten ones for $.50 each, I think your opinion might be somewhat different.

And if you had paid over $5 each, you would have likely just wasted your money.

The center point price wise is often the "sweet spot". Not always but often.

ALl of the retrofit LEDs I've brought from this LED vendor are 10-30 V rated, and are dimmable.

Yes, you do get what you pay for. Lifetime warranty there as well.

They emailed me a coupon code of RV the other day for a discount and I think it said free shipping too.

I bought these 2 years ago and they all still work and don't get hot . The saying " you get what you pay for " has long since worn itself out IMHO .

I purchased 24 of the cheapo Chinese LEDs direct from China. Great price, reasonable delivery time. Every single one got hotter than the halogen it replaced, and scorched its circuit board. I'm surprised there wasn't a fire. Some individual elements burned out, and some flickered in a nice strobe effect.

I replaced the whole lot with ones from SuperBright LEDs and have been much happier. You do get what you pay for.

The caution is good but from the details you provided I think it is more likely that you just got one bulb that was defective.

When I did my conversion there were two "night light" type fixtures which I had to remove the covers on because they touched the new bulbs and the bulbs were noticeably hot. They work fine with no covers.

Good tip. I converted to LED's via Amazon and use 30 AMP power almost continuously. 4 days with no issue. Spent only $66 for 20 of one type 921 and 2 Halogen reading lights.

Word of caution from my own experience... Make certain whatever LEDs you do buy, they are rated for more than just 12v, specifically up to 14.5v. I bought a bunch of LED lights off of Amazon that seemed just fine, plugged them into my camper and thought I was good to go. I seldom use shore power but the one time I was I had the lights on for about 30 minutes and started to smell burning electronics smell. After a few minutes I narrowed it down to the LED lights and took off the housing and attempted to unscrew the bulb only to have it all fall apart on me! The bulb had heated up so much that it made the solder very weak and my touching it caused it all to fall apart.

I still use the same bulbs but only because I'm never on shore power and I've already spent the money so I might as well get my use out of them. The few times I am on shore power I keep a close I the bulbs and make sure not to run them for too long.

I bought a 10 pack on eBay. Chinese junk. Sure they work, but they give off a funky white/blue light. Also not very bright. I decided to order 1 LED bulb from M4 LED products to try because they are pricey.
It is a 1141 replacement in my bathroom. I got the natural white elite series. WOW. Very bright and great color. Yes they aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Do it once, do it right.
I will be buying more. Very high quality. No comparison to the chinese junk on eBay. I ended up putting those in the outside compartment light fixtures.
Check out their website. http://www.m4products.com

Update on my situation. Apparently they were so busy packaging my new bulbs they didn't have a chance to reply. Kudoos to LED trailer lights.

They have a fax number in their about us section ..... but in general, I won't do business with someone who makes it that difficult to contact them. There are other fish in the sea.
