LED Strip lights

Ok boys and girls I want to add the nice LED strip light on my TT. I just have a question for all of you that have them. I am thinking I want them on the TT is self that way they are usefull even if my awning is up. Will this limit the light or still give me about the same effect as if the were on the awning when it is extended.

Thanks
Majja
  • We attached ours on our Keystone Bullet 24RBS and with the awning rolled up it gives a nice "ambient" lighting - reflecting off the side of the trailer (but still more than enough to mind the grill and so forth). With the awning out its definitely brighter. It also depends on how low you set the strip - the lower, the more direct lighting.

  • Depends on where you mount them? I mounted my strip to the awning tube which rolls up. Not much light is I turned them on in that position. Many others mount to the trailer below the awning. This would provide some usable light for you.

  • I was thinking of going about the bottom of the awning when it is rolled up for the position.

That is where my factory installed LED strip is located - at the bottom edge of the awning assembly at trailer side. That way its able to provide illumination whether or not the awning is deployed or not. With it deployed, the awning acts as a reflector (if light coloured) and to the apparent output is greater.
  • Do not put it on the awning tube, when it is rolled up it retains the water in the awning so after awhile the light strip will start to fail after water accumulates in the led strip, I have mine under the awning and it spreads light even when the awning is closed
