Little Guy Silver Shadow vs T@B

Lots of upgrade choices, Tab, Rpod, Aliner and of course Teardrops from dozens of manufacturers. Some can be good, others a waste of money. You need to figure out what fits your lifestyle.

I believe Thor bought out the T@b line and then started making the Little Guys along with them, for what that's worth. I like the T@bs a lot, but have heard there are some quality issues with the old and new (delamination and leaks). The Little Guys seem OK, but a bit pricey for what you get. I would shop around. There's a newer company out in Oregon that makes similar trailers, can't recall what they're called (sorry), but their trailers are a little roomier.

I played tag with a truck hauling several of these through Canada to Alaska last summer, so kept seeing them and they looked kind of neat.

Nope, Thor sold T@B to Little Guy. I've not read any bad things about Little Guy product quality. Thor... different story.

I'd go spend some time in them (30 minutes or more each) to see if you like or dislike them. I see you're in the ATL area. I assume you're looking at Southland RV in Buford? Great, family owned, honest dealer that isn't pushy and the people are very knowledgeable regarding the products they sell. We've bought two Aliners from them and would buy from them again. They let us sit in our Aliners as long as we wanted to to check them out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our T@B. I really miss it but we had to upgrade as our family grew. We ended up selling it for more than we paid for it. They were somewhat collectible before Little Guy reintroduced them. Some features that really made it stand out:
-easy to maneuver
-could take it/park it almost anywhere
-could move it by hand to take advantage of views at campsite
-add-on room doubled square footage
-minimal maintenance
-easy/quick to pack and go

Be aware that if you get one, you will need to be ok with lots of attention that it brings. But, meeting new people curious about your rig is part of the fun of camping.

The other thing you need to know about the small teardrops is that you will get much better mpg because they are lower to the ground. This sounds like a good thing, but be careful what you wish for -- better mpg means you will have to wait much longer between gas stops while traveling. This can be a problem for some of us older folks, if you know what I mean. And if you don't know what I mean, you are lucky. ;)
