I think you will have to get a long bed since you see the above as advantages. I will never own one so I don't know how they ride. My 42 gal aux takes 10 inches of space. I don't have a slider and don't need one. my short bed tows fine for me. you have to do with what you are comfortable with and like. We will both be happy that way. :W just my opinion but you re already a long bed guy. have fun out there.
