Long Box Pick up trucks.

With practice they fit almost everywhere.

I daily drive my F450 CCLB DRW, putting far more miles per year than most of you. I have no problems with parking or drive thru's. About the only thing I stay away from are parking garages due to height issues. I DO have one advantage over most, the wide track front axle. This truck turns sharper than any truck I've ever owned. It would be very hard for me to go back to a SRW CCLB truck now that I've experienced the ease of maneuvering this feature offers.

As far as the long bed goes...as posted earlier, real trucks that do real work have long beds. If you cant haul 8' plywood/drywall/lumber in the bed, the truck is useless to me. Longer lumber goes on the rack. I'd take a 10'pickup bed if they offered it.

HA she has slowed down buying ROCKS so I am good for a while.

New long bed is 259.3, his 2000 QC long box is 244.1" or 15.2" shorter than a new long bed. At 244.1 his QC LB is longer than my CC SB by 7".

Remember I came from a Std Cab 8' bed 2001.5 that was 224.1" long, so the new RAM is over a foot longer. The 2001.5 was MUSH more nimble in parking lots, and had a LOT less hood out front. With the engine mods it was much quicker that the new RAM. Would I go back? NO! To many creature comforts in the new one. This ease for towing is night and day difference.

If I was moving to a dually, it would most likely be a Mega Cab short box at 248" long.

Our snowbird park has quite a mix between short and long box TVs.

Somehow all the large 5th wheels show up every year behind SB trucks, with many being 250/2500(more GM 2500's doing that than RAMs and Fords).

I park at Lowes, Homedepot, Wallmart, Costco etc and stick out more than most other vehicles, I would not want to stick out 22 inches farther.

I have a camera in the grill so I can pull close to the vehicle across from me also, minimizing the amount that I stick out. Oh, and when we bought it we had a garage that would not hold a CC long box and now have a park model car port that could not handle the extra 22" and still allow one to walk in front of the vehicle.

Here is how I handle towing a 5th wheel and having storage in the bed.

John & Bet, it is a lost cause, I tried to convince Chris that a long bed CC wasn't that big or issue to drive before he bought the SB.

I test drove a 2017 Ram CC LB and didn't seem that much bigger than my current Quad cab long bed.
