Looking for feedback on Grand Design Reflection TT

Looking to upgrade out current TT and came across the Grand Design Reflection 308bhts at the RV Show over the weekend. The good news is that it is what we have been looking for in the floor plan but apparently this is a fairly new company that was started by a couple of guys that broke off of another major RV manufacturer. Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with Grand Design?

Show price was 39,800. Pretty comparable in price to some other models we have seen like this. Factory rep was there and seemed very knowledgable. They only offer 2 TT models and the rest are fifth wheel models. There is a dealer close to us and that is important to us also.

Another thing to remember is Grand Design has a pledge with all of it's dealerships that if you are travelling away from home and have issues they will get you into their dealership to get you taken care of.

This is a great point that many don't realize. We bought our Open Range TT new from a nearby dealer. One of their selling points to us was that they ONLY work on RV's bought from their dealership. Being used to how the car industry works, I was astounded and even called Open Range directly to ask whether they require their dealers to work on any Open Range brought to them. Sure enough, the dealer was telling the truth.

When you consider that there's a high chance your RV will fail while on the road, the Grand Design policy is worth something.

  • Have some friends who bought a Reflection 5er about 8 months ago - they love it. They are long time 5ers - over 20 years - and say it is the best they've ever owned.

Company seems to be producing good quality products at this time.
  • Exactly what youngone said. We love our 303 and are very happy with Grand Design.
  • My wife and I looked at them a few weeks back at the Denver show. Of all of the trailers in the show she liked the 313RLTS the best. It seemed to be built just as well or better than its competition and priced very low for what you get.
I was leaning towards a new Airstream International if and when the time comes but she hated it. I’m not ready to go back to a trailer yet but if we started traveling with longer stays in one place it might be the way to go for us.
What was the show pricing like for the 308? As I remember it the 313 was just over 42k at the show.

I have a Grand Design Reflection 303 5th wheel. we love it. Well built. Great company and their customer service center will take care of you if you have a problem. Go on the Grand Design forum or look up on facebook. A owner started a facebook page. Lots of owners on there. Many times the owners {3 of them} of Grand Design will get on the forum and personally talk to you to solve your issues. Company's web page is Granddesignrv.com
  • We have friends who own one of their luxury toy haulers. It's quite impressive with rich finishes, one of the largest showers I've ever seen, well thought-out storage (and lots of it), many bells and whistles and I appreciate a bedroom I don't have to haunch over to fit in at 6'-5"! It's a heavy beast and carries a price tag commensurate with its construction, but doesn't seem too outrageous. They've had it back for warranty items 4-5 times, but as I recall nothing serious. Overall, they remind me of Open Range (before Jayco) in founding and business model.
  • Don't have any experience with them, but, from looking at their product features and specs, they appear to be well built, insulated well, and heavy. They only build two floor plans in the TT line. Both of them have UVW's over 8000 and gross weights in the neighborhood of 10,000 lbs. Give or take a couple hundred. Tongue weights will easily pass 1000 lbs.
