or, it was intentional. A leaky camper rotten and expensive to repair. Oops, it fell off in the street. Aww, it's a total loss... Crying all the way to the RV dealer with the insurance check.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

Not everyone has a built Mopar like you do....lol

They look to be TL frame mounts with chain and most likely solid anchors not spring loaded.

Maybe heavy camper and weak chains. Hit a bump or who knows? Looks more like a turn buckle issue for sure I think.

If you enlarge the first image it appears that both front camper tie downs have a turnbuckle still attached that evidently broke..The truck has some kind of frame mounted tie downs with the chains dangling..

So he had tie downs and frame mounted it seems. They just broke for some reason.

I could be wrong, but when I enlarged the image, those look like Torklift tie downs to me, not Happijac.

Maybe if all they have are goober idiots that don’t know what they’re doing.
I did that stuff when I was in my 20s, I would have transported it without damage.
As usual.

Use tiedowns attached to the frame.

With my old camper I had a plastic bed liner and some bad tie down points. Before rebuilding them I had the camper slide back as much as 2 inches on one occasion and had to get out and tighten everything down and limp my way home. After fixing all the tie down points (rebuilding the frame of the camper) it still wanted to move around. I really think the bed liner was the problem.

With the new camper and a rubber matt and fast guns I have not seen any movement at all and I've now also removed the plastic bedliner as I did not like the idea of it under the rubber matt.

That gives a new definition to the term "slide out". 🙂

That's got to be embarrassing. Can you reload that back on the truck once it's down like that?
