lowering rear truck bumper to clear camper

Question

My camper is shy about 5-6 inches of going all the way into the bed of the truck because the rear portion of the camper hits the truck bumper. The camper would have to be 4 " higher to clear or the bumper would have to be 4 " lower. I can't raise the camper 4 " because I have a tall truck and my lift system will not go an additional 4 " higher. So has anyone lowered their rear bumper ? Or made a bumper ? I was thinking of making a tube or square bumper to allow sewer hose storage.

My tc is the same,I leave it about 6 inches back from the front of the box and put blocking in between.It doesn't change the center of gravity much.

I put my Avion on a modern Ford truck bed trailer and I used the factory bumper that came with the bed.  I mounted the bumper in the factory position and I had to leave the camper about 3" back further than where I used to keep it on the older truck.

If you plan to keep the TC on truck except for service, you can save weight by removing the bumper.

For different reasons, I have raised my TC as much as 5" with no issues. I could not tell any difference in MPG or the way the truck drove. It was easier to wash the top of the cab.
