LP gas detector keeps beeping

Beeping is silenced. All it took was a screwdriver and wire snips. It had to be a defect. Manufacturer date is Feb 2012 so I will be calling CampersWorld to see what if anything can be done to replace this. Not sure if Zoey has a bumper-to-bumper warranty!! LOLOL

I guess that's true. Thought they would have checked that the unit was new. Oh well I have time. I'll check after work.

These detectors do have a life span. I just replaced mine which was 4 years old. I was told their life time can range from 4-6 years. Problem with even a new trailer is you don't know how old the unit was when it was installed. Look around the unit to see if you can find either a manufacturing date or expiration date.

Well being I just bought the TT last year ( it's a 2013 Zinger ) I would hope it wasn't expired otherwise I think Campers World or Thor ( Crossroads ) should replace it.

Be careful, some detectors have the manufacturing date stamped on the back, not the expiration date. Make sure you know which it is, which is likely to depend on the make and model. LP detectors are designed to be replaced after 5 years.

Ours kept doing the same thing, at 4 am, we were camping so DH got up and disconnected it and that was in June. Just reconnected it and went camping again and it did it at 5 am, disconnected again. Talked to an RV service guy and he looked at it and said that those detectors have an expiration date on them and that was the case with ours. We purchased a new detector DH installed it yesterday. We are going camping this weekend, so we will see if it works. Disconnect it and look at the date stamped on it. The detector could have an expired date, and need replacing.

Covered by slide about 8 inches or so. Hasn't done it since last year around this time though....weird.

So its covered by the slide when it is closed? Just curious, does it chirp when the slide is open?

It has a blinking green and a red. The red is flashing as of now. Taking it off sounds like the next thing to do when I get home. Did the reset button 10 times.

Does your CO detector have little lights on the front? On ours the green light will sometimes flash yellow and the detector chirps for no apparent reason. There's a reset button there, sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to shut up. My resource says if reset doesn't fix it, to remove the detector and place it outdoors for a while to clear.
