Made a Difference

Thanks for earlier advice:

Check it~

After about a year of towing without a Topper on my Pickup -->

Average Miles per Gallon === 10 (+ or - .3) depending on driving style, speed, terrain, etc...

Upgraded Topper

Average Miles per Gallon === 11 (+ or - .3) depending on driving style, speed, terrain, etc....

Get out there and make lasting adventures!!

Interesting, I've put them on two Dodge/Cummins trucks and it made no difference either way.
    Glad it worked for you!

Still have to log more miles to confirm, but a recent 1,400 mile trip, did get a strong 11.2 average.

I'm thinking the wind deflecting differently is helping.

DEFINITE BIG help with storing stuff safely and out of weather!!! :B

I know, it's great to have all that room. Be careful though, for some reason things seem to migrate in there:B!
  • Adding a topper/shell will definitely improve your mileage... It is just that simple. Add in the additional secure storage and it is a no brainer for all but the fiver crowd.
  • Diesels already get fantastic mileage, so probably won't make much difference. Like the OP, I gained about ten percent by adding a topper to a couple of gas tow vehicles.

  • I can see how that could help with aerodynamics when towing. Looks nice too.

  • I highly doubt that it is attributed from the topper.....Driving habits ,temperature, roads traveled....to many variables...check it next year and I am sure it will be different again
