maxxair on artic fox 990

hi everyone, iam looking to install a maxxair vent on my 990af. my problem is installing on a fantastic fan plastic, will the vent on the front of camper stay on with just the screws and no bolts, thank you for your help
  • I have had no problems using the larger Maxair and Camping World covers over the Fantastic Fan vents on past rigs. Now, I have Aero-Flo covers over my Fantastic Fans on the Host.

It is the Fan-Tastic Ultra Breeze vent cover, th only Cover recommended for over Fantastic Fans - of course if made by the same company as Fantastic Fans you'd expect them to recommend it exclusively.

I purchased the MaxxAir II cover and found it required drilling into the side of the fan housing to mount it on my new Northern Lite camper, which I didn't think was desirable, or very practical. The Ultra Breeze cover simply required removing 4 screws that were already there for the fan. The Ultra Breeze cover was a "Breeze" to install. I also got the optional screen for the cover to help keep bugs out, but I'm not sure it's really necessary since the fan has its own screen.

That's what I installed. Works well so far.
  • I have an Ultra Breeze on my AF 990 and it works well. My only advice is park your camper into the wind, if you do the opposite and it is raining, the vent better be closed.:S

  • thank you for your help, I did not know they made one just for fantastic air, i'll look on line. thank you
  • It's worth the extra bucks for the fantastic vent cover. It works perfect. My problem was night time moisture collecting on the rain sensor, making it close in middle if night. Cover solved that issue.
  • If you are talking about a Maxxair hood over the top of the fantastic, have you considered the hood that Fantastic makes specifically for that fan? I've not used either one, but it is an alternative they claim great things for.
