mileage?

I have a 3500 GMC Sierra 2006 with the LBZ we get no better than 12.5 mpg US with camper fully loaded.

My 2011 2500 4X4 CC 6.6 gave me about 12 ish empty and 9.5 towing our TT which came in around 8000lbs.

I just returned from a 2600 mile trip, and I got 12.5 MPG with a 3500 SRW Dodge Cummins diesel, and a 4000 lb Lance 1071

Are you sure you want to upgrade? Those are pretty good numbers for 2006 with Vortec. Our 2003 6.6 Duramax SRW CC w/3:73 gears gets 17/21 mpg empty, 11.3 pulling our 30' 10,000lb travel trailer and around 12mpg with our 11.5 Western Wilderness camper. All the best, Hans

With the camper @ 55mph according to the computer...20.5mpg
Without the camper in town according to the computer ....26 mpg
With the camper around town according to the computer ...12.4 mpg
Maybe I should mention we drive in Florida on flat ground . When we go to the mountains an we have the mpg does change. We have 185000 miles on the truck an the last time we weighted the combo weighted in at a little over 12200pounds

hello all, in my 2006 gmc 2500 410 rear 4wd w lance 915 ive been getting around 12mpg for the past 6 yrs

...we've got essentially the same truck, rear end, and engine (Vortec 6), but in a 2004.5 model year:

-hauling the camper (albeit ~~1,600 LBS lighter than your Lance) = 13.6 MPG

-truck unladen with 2 passengers on open road/highway = 15.3 MPG

*truck has 39,146 miles on it presently; I drive very evenly, and ~5 MPH under speed limits on highways

I suppose if I drove the 2500HD like a logger on 2 gallons of Starbucks Blue Mountain, I'd probably get 9 MPG unladen :B

It depends a lot on gearing and what year you are changing to. 55 around here would make you a road block. In any case, diesels get more mileage but also in many areas cost more for fuel. My last two trucks are diesel because they can haul/tow better in mountains and have more range between fill ups.

"Fuelly.com" is one of my favorite websites- it logs fuel mileage reports from users of just about every vehicle on the road.

Looks like the 2014 F350 already has some reports- Link but once you're at the site you can punch in any make/model year etc.
