- krobbeExplorer28mpg(imperial) equals 23.3mpg(US). Maybe he's confusing the two?

I'm getting better mpgs driving my 13 Eco than I did driving my 97 5.4 on the same daily commute. About 3-4 mpg better.
The 97 got a best of 17 mpg on the hwy. My Eco has gotten 21 mpg on the hwy. I avg 17 mpg on my daily commute now compared to 13-14 mpg with the 97.
We have no idea how this guy drives his 2.7 eco... ;) I can make my mpg drop a ton too.. But, I still do have fun with the eco and still get those mpg figures.
My 3.5 Eco walks all over that old 5.4 in terms of power and "eco".. :) I'm getting the exact mpg ratings that the window sticker says I'm supposed to be getting, so dunno what's up with that??
But, buy into the hype or not. Buy something else if it makes you feel better... The point is, make up your own mind and not what the internet says...
Good luck!
Mitch
One note -- the tailgate of the truck in the pic is an '09-14, so his truck isn't a 2.7.
If the guy was gullible enough to think he could average 28 mpg w/ a full size pickup, well, I'm not surprised he thinks that his revenge efforts are useful as well! He probably thinks he's killing Ford and that dealership, where in reality most people who read his little sign probably just think he's a moron.
I'm all for the humor, but sometimes I just wonder what people really want out of an engine. I know my EB gives me about 10% better fuel economy than the naturally aspirated V8's I've had, and puts out significantly more power and torque. - v10superdutyExplorerWish I had a picture but years ago, a guy who owned a tourist/fishing camp in Nestor Falls had a similar program going with his motorhome.
(In reality, he probably had a more realistic reason being it was a motorhome, not a current truck :S)
He was upset enough that he painted about one foot size lemons all over the thing.
Then parked it where you could see it as you drove by on hiway.
He must have drove in south into the USA when he closed his camp each fall.
This guy had money so could easily have just traded it/sold it and moved on but he chose to park that in his yard and drive it around.
IMO he was not punishing the manufacturer but making himself look like an obsessed fool.. :W
The manufacturer would rather it not be happening but in reality its not a big deal to them.
They all know the 10% rule.
--10% of your customers will BE happy with you no matter what!
--10% of your customers will NEVER be happy no matter what!
They try and get rid of a certain 10% and focus on the 80% who are the real normal folks.
I don't think this guy is an 80% er? :S - kaydeejayExplorer

Nope, it will be stated in both Km/L (Kilometers per liter) AND MPG, that being Miles per IMPERIAL gallon, or approx 20% higher than Miles per US gallon.
Since it is in Canada would it not be kpg instead mpg.
Add to that the Canadian MPG tests result in higher number anyway and you end up comparing apples to oranges! - colliehaulerExplorer III

So the Ecoboost engine should be called Eco-or-boost ?
:) Hi, actually you could be right because you don't get both at the same time. I think most people know this. The Eco-nomy is gone when you push hard on the little pedal on the right. - ROBERTSUNRUSExplorer

:) Hi, after several decades of working at new car dealers, The first mistake people make is buying something that they really can't afford. Then they plaster three B.S. excuses on their rear window.
In the early 70's there were two people in town that hated their cars. One of them parked their new car in front of the assembly plant and lit it on fire. The other one bought an advertising sign like used on Taxis, mounted it on the trunk lid, wrote all of his complaints on the sign, and drove it all around town for more than ten years. They sure got even didn't they?????
Can't fix stupid right? This guy is apparently unhappy with the fuel economy of his truck. Short of there being some mechanical issue with the truck, I'd be willing to bet it's his right foot that has fuel economy issues! - bmet2000ExplorerSo the Ecoboost engine should be called Eco-or-boost ?
