At least we have an idea of who is pushing up the price of new trucks.

Says the guy with an F350 Platinum.

You do know the article states an f150 is the vehicle of choice.

I really don't know what I was thinking. Our business owns the truck. I think of the Honda as our personal vehicle.

Love this from the article:

"The irony is that manufacturers are struggling to find enough content to put in their vehicles to get prices up to $100,000 or more,"

Does this mean....

1).....since I don't own a F150....I don't or won't make $200k/yr
2).....if I bought a F150....I'll make $200k/yr soon ???

Or trying to top the fashion statement crowd...Heck...jump to the top OEM priced SUV (betcha most don't use these to work, just as cars) and get either the Bentley or Lamborghini....+$200K, quicker and faster...maybe the one with twin turbo W12 cylinder (hey!, it's an all aluminum W12)

Of course facetious....if you can afford it, buy it and be dangled what others think....I don't own trucks to impress anyone but me...plus use my trucks as trucks most of the time...admitt to driving the Sub like a Hot Rod more and more these days...

A 1/2 ton truck is pretty much a perfect vehicle - especially if you don't care about fuel cost (and even that is not that bad). It's got a comfortable ride, is safe, luxurious, lots of bells, whistles and techie gadgets and can tow/haul a pretty good amount if needed.

I've often thought if money was no object the ultimate setup would be a Prevost DP with a 1/2 truck in tow to spin around town in.

I often see trucks with $70k-80k price tags and wonder who is buying them.
GMC Denalis and Ford King Ranch come to mind.
I paid $94k for my house for crying out loud!
I guess if you have reached that level of financial security that you can afford it.
I just never had any desire for a heated steering wheel or power retracting running boards. Just more stuff to break and cost you money down the road.

I own a truck to tow and haul, and even my base model GMC has been plenty comfortable when we go on longer trips.

Maybe that's what the 150, 250, 350 really mean. Income in hundreds of thousands, not payload! :E

No we don't. LOL

When a F450 costs upwards of $75K, it doubles as a Lexus or Mercedes. Nothing these luxury cars have over my truck other than a lack of head and leg room.

Trust me, they have a Lexus, Mercedes, or something similar they go to dinner in.
As Ford trucks are the best selling, you can probably pick any income level and still make the same statement. The numbers get diluted in the car/suv end due to the many choices available.
