Mount Honda 3000 on tongue?

I'm thinking about doing the above.

TT - 2010 Springdale Rugged Terrain 189.

Have a rack fabricated to carry the genny above the propane tanks. 150# of additional tongue weight would be welcomed as I have just under 10% now.

I guess my main concern is having it near the propane tanks?
  • Thanks for the link handye9!!! Just what I want only maybe a little taller to give more access to the propane bottles!!!

I'm not worried about theft. It will be securely mounted plus I will have a custom cover made for it.

At first I thought the remote start would be great until I learned you have to leave the key in and in the on position!!!

Why would that nix the remote? I'm really liking the rack/gen above the tanks idea.

  • Nice idea. I'd highly recommend remote start just to be able to fire it up without trudging outside.
  • Take a look at this ready made rack, pictured as doing exactly what you want to do.

Propane is heavier than air, and, will settle toward the ground. Would still be a good idea to use some leak detector.
