`higher end small TT' may be an oxymoron. Manufacturers don't make any money on small TT's so there is no point in making one that is high end. Those folks that can afford high end models don't usually want something small.
Search this Forum for the brands you might be interested in and pay more attention to the complaints. Scamp, Aliner, Casita come to mind. At least look at Trailmanor's small TT.

I'm usually over in the TC forum but.....we're considering selling our TC and getting a small TT. Like a Scamp. Or if we win the Lottery, an Airstream Sport 16.

I'd sure like to hear from you TT people about recommendations for a higher end small TT. Not an Airstream though, we can't afford $40k.

If you have the force 5.7 engine you can tow substantially more TT than just a small compact one. If you are going to tow you might as well get something bigger because you just lost the real value of a TC-- maneuverability. Once you decide to tow; longer is much nicer in camp and longer actually tows and backs better. I would look for something in the 25 -30 foot range. If not now, you will be looking for something in that range for your next TT.

Northwood makes a 22 foot Arctic Fox TT that is well built. They make their own frames. Airstreams are perhaps the least expensive TT's considering longevity. They will outlast three or four box TT's. Airstreams have been built since the 1930's and something like 70 percent are still in use. Compare that to a TT that you hope lasts at least until the last payment is made. Do you have to purchase new? A five year old Airstream might be in your budget range.

If I were looking for a small well built trailer I would really take a hard look at the Escape. I like everything about these trailers. I would go for the 21 footer.

You are following the path of most RV'ers. Start off with a small RV, move up to a slightly larger and then end up with an even bigger RV. Based on what I've seen and read over the years most RV'ers go through 3 RVs before they reach the one that really fits their RV lifestyle. You need to take the leap and skip a couple and get a larger TT. At least a 25 footer or even a 30.

Our first TT was a Nomad built by Skyline. It wasn't a high end but had all of the looks and features of the high end models of the time. We used that TT monthly for 16 years with no major problems. Our current Alfa See-Ya 5th wheel was considered a mid-level model again with all of the features of high end models. It's 20 years old and still going strong.

Don't rule out the lower end manufacturers, you may be surprised.

My TT is 31 feet long. My TC was 11 feet. I thought I was going to the biggest RV in the world selling the TC and acquiring the TT. How would I park it, tow it, etc. loomed in my mind at time of purchase. Plus it was much bigger than the TC. After one year I was sorry I did not go for a 34-35 foot TT. Inside space is just wonderful in camp especially if you have kids or dogs; it is cold, raining, or there are lots of bugs.

We really like our little Fun Finder -- see blog links below -- but it is not "higher end" without a lot of modifications. Check out the new small Lance trailers -- they make great TCs, so I would expect that their trailers are good, too.
