Moving trailer for wheels

My concern is bearings, particularly anywhere with humidity. My boat trailer gets jacked up with a couple 6x6 under the axle close to the wheels, so the wheel is just off the ground. When I'm walking by and I remember, I give the wheels a spin with my boot in winter. I presume it helps the tires too, to not have any load on them.

I don't worry about it. I just make sure the tires are at the correct psi level after I dewinterize and before the first spring trip.

I have a 12k stubby hyd jack that I lift one end of the axle and rotate the tire maybe 45 degrees a couple times a winter. Takes all of 4 min. My rv is stored for 5-6 months a year and sits on treated wood on a gravel pad.
I use LT or P tires on all of my trailers and expect 7-10 years/50k-55k miles of service so I try and follow what the tire makers and tire engineers recommendations.

What does your tire maker say about extended winter storage ??

1980's ?!?!! . Radial tires were invented in the 70's. By 1980 all cars were radials.

(Now, I will admit that is cars. It's possible that radial trailer tires came along later. )

I say just leave it. Towing it a couple of miles won't be much of a workout anyway. If the tires are exposed then cover them up. Flat spotting really isn't a problem if you keep the tires aired up.

Flat spotted tires are so 1980's. radials do not flat spot.

Exactly. No, a mile trip won't do anything. If you are worried about "flat spots", you would only need to roll it back or forth a couple inches. If you are worried about premature aging of the tires... ST tires are designed to sit. If you are just bored and want to believe its almost camping season... have at it!

Me personally, I try to rotate my trailer tires around the first week of February every year. Since the roads are usually salted in the mid Atlantic, we take the trailer down to Florida to rotate them.
