Simple math. The only way waiting 16 hours to leave would've made sense is if I had been stuck in traffic for more than 16 hours.
For the trip out I left Tuesday midday and arrived at my final destination Friday midday. I knew I could make up some time but didn't know how much and I did not want to be rolling into town the morning of the service.
