Need advice on anchor kit for long term TT lot

Hi folks-

We've got a 30ft Dutchmen Aspentrail TT that we put on a long-term RV spot. The park owners are requiring us to install hold-downs to anchor our unit during high winds, etc as we are on the coast. Can anyone recommend a good kit for this?

Also, what's some good skirting that we can use?

Feel free to post links as well.

Thanks in advance :)

  • I agree on asking the park owner/manager for what they want. Do it their way.
  • I used these pet stakes from Harbor Freight to secure my tarp garage when I was working on the camper last year and they held up to tropical storm Isaias with the severe winds we got on the coast.

I agree with valhalla360, you should ask the park owner what they recommend, I don't know what kind of forces the hold downs need to withstand, or whether they need to be in concrete. High winds from hurricanes/storms wil;l also come with soaking rains, and anchors pull out much easier when the ground is soaked to mud.
  • Contact a mobile home seller in your area. They have the correct devices to wrap around the frame and screw into the earth.
I also saw a large hardware store (not a chain store) that sold the parts and rented the equipment to install them.
  • I would ask the owner for examples. You don't want to install something and then the owner tells you it's not acceptable.

But most likely, search for "earth anchors". They are pretty common and they screw down into the ground.
