Need advice: replacing stabilizers on 2004 R-Vision 28ft TT
I have a 2004 R-Vision 28ft TT Model 8304-S (dry weight 4481 lbs, GVWR 6068 lbs) that needs to have its stabilizers replaced. It is mainly used in my sloped driveway as grandmother quarters for a handful of visits per year and for fairly level campsites another handful of times per year.
One rear stabilizer is missing due to prior owner and limited ground clearance ripping it off and another is bent to the point of barely working...
So opportunity knocks to possibly upgrade from these T stabilizers to something a bit more stable and increase safety in C stabilizers or scissor jacks but trying to keep total upgrade <$225.
I was looking to potentially use the stabilizer for a minor amount of leveling (rest would be leveling blocks under the tires and front jack).
I was currently thinking of one of these 24" scissor jacks:
(1) BAL R.V. Products Group 24002D Deluxe Leveling Scissor Jack - 24-Inch (With Set of (2) 20037 crank handle with swivel head) ($82 per pair x 2 - 7500 lbs each / 16 lbs each)
(2) Ultra-Fab 48-979002 24" Scissor Jack (Qty 2) ($63 x 2 - 6500 lbs / 11 lbs each)
(3) Eaz-Lift 24" RV Stabilizing Scissor Jack, Fits Pop-Up Campers and Travel Trailers (Qty 2) ($42 per pair x 2 - 7500 lbs / 5 lbs each) (Great price but are they brittle/weak?)
or this C stabilizer:
(4) BAL 23225 Set of 2 "C" Jacks with Handle - 25" ($75 per pair x 2 / 14 lbs each)
and to also consider having added steel plates welded to the mounting corners on the frame for added strength where the jacks would be bolt mounted. (Might have to do this in the future)
I might be able to barely afford adding a set of long-arm stabilizer bars to meet my current budget (<$225) but might have to wait to do so in the future (BAL 23216 Lock-Arm Stabilizing Bar = $72 for pair @ front at a minimum)
Advice on brand preference that has stood up well with use and wear and any points on scissor jacks vs C stabilizers.
Thanks in advance for all replies!
