Need help Looking at a Salem cruise lite 230BHXL

My wife and I just sold our 2004 fleetwood pop up and are in the market for a new TT. I found a 2018 Salem cruise lite 230 BHXL for $19K. It fits all our needs, but is a bit more than we wanted to spend. We can make it work, but were wondering if it is a good unit, and if there is something else we should be looking for or at.
Finding reviews for campers is so much harder than cars as there are so many models etc. I figured this forum was a good place to start.
Our requirements were less than 25 feet with bunks and a pop out. A high clearance is also important to us as we tow down an off road section of class 4 road fairly regularly.
Any insight and or input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Search the internet for other dealers prices on that TT. If that was the dealers first number he threw out, you can probably get that TT for a few thousand less. Offer him $15K and see what he says. You can always pay $19K but you may get it for less.

    Google is your friend.
  • Good holding tank capacity but 40 gallons of fresh water is a bit low for dry/boondocking. Could carry more in gerry cans however. Otherwise looks pretty good. What is the load range on the tires? Lots of choices with 15 inchers.
