Thanks, I'll forward this on to him....our routing was a snap. He could just see getting out in the middle of no-man's land and not a gas station in sight...the Atlas makes it look pretty barren.

Agreeing with the others. This is the route to take. Nice easy scenic drive. In addition to the gas stations already mentioned, there are two gas stations just before Hwy 64 (which is just before Cameron) with easy motorhome access. I've also been to the Ute casino station mentioned above in my motorhome.

The exit from I-40 to 89 says 89 to Page on it. So make sure he follows those signs, because you exit the freeway, turn left to go over the freeway and then turn right onto the main drag (street) in east Flagstaff. But in just a few miles you are out of Flagstaff and on your way north on the open road!

Fill up in Flagstaff and then there is gas in Cortez CO at Ute Mountain Travel Center next to casino. Flagstaff is about 265 miles from Cortez. All the info I found on your route is that it's OK.

Actually, I'd take the route that you first mentioned. There are quite a few options for fuel along the route. Tuba City would be a good location to top off. It has several stations in town. There are also stations in Kayenta and Cortez along with a few between towns. I've been that way several times and I've never had an issue. It is a very scenic route. If you get a chance, stop at four corners and see the tourist trap the locals have set up ;-)
