Need Inverter in Canada

Looking for a 1000w pure sine inverter in Canada for under $200. Must have remote on/off switch. The key is it must be in Canada, from online retailer or sticks and bricks store.

Suggestions? I like the Motomaster 1000w pure sine, but the $ is $280 plus tax.

Guessing it's too expensive to order from the US because of the high cost of getting it into Canada? The shipping cost, brokerage fee, duty, taxes, fuel surcharge and "other fees" substantially increases the cost of an item. Things can be bought in the US for as low as around 1/2 the cost compared to here. It sucks...

Amazon.ca can cost a LOT more for the same thing on Amazon.com. We never buy from the Can. site. We buy a lot of stuff on the internet in the US and get it shipped to a US mailbox and drive across the border to pick it up. But we're very close to the border and Calgary is just too far for that.

What redracer said. A lot of US companies will only ship UPS. The cheapest brokerage fee i've ever seen from U'r Personally Screwed is $25 and have had upwards of $100 on items costing as little as $40, and payment is due at the door for delivery.

$200 isnt that far off what i see the 1000's go on sale for, regular price is $280-600.

Hi,

That is a VERY low cost for a pure sine wave inverter. I am surprised to hear (from above post) that it is made by Xanterx and sold that low of a price. Sometimes the fine print is confusing, I have seen "Pure Square Wave" inverters, in a effort to fool the customer to thinking they are getting a quality unit, while they are not. Square wave inverters are just that, a square on-off wave form, just like the modified sine wave inverters are.

You might check customer reviews on that product.

There is also the saying "You get what you pay for" and you might not be getting a quality and energy efficient unit with that brand. But I might be surprised.

I would be looking at this website for a inverter. SunElec.com

Hi,

The motomaster goes on sale from time to time. It is made for Canuck Tire by Xantrex.

I think AMAZON sells things in Canada. Maybe you can find one there as well...

I know AMAZON doesn't stock as many items as it does for the US Sales - wort a look see however...

Just about everything we buy for my RV's comes from LOWES or AMAZON haha...
