It looks like i'm going to pull the trigger on a 2015 Adventurer 89RB. I really like the counter space on this particular model. I have been torn between the Lance 855, versus the Adventurer 89RB. The whole wood construction or Aluminum has been weighting on me. I do however have to ask. There are two options on the rear bumper. Super step, or comfort Step. It was my thought that the Comfort step would not allow me use of the step the way it was designed with my Duckboat or ATV trailer in tow with the Comfort step. If anyone has an image of the Super step, or has an opinion of one over the other please share. I faxed my build sheet to the Dealer today.Hoping to here that the factory has the options I want in stock so it may be shipped.I haven't found any negative posts in regards to the Adventurer products. I hope this is a good sign.

This looks to be the comfort step:I think if you removed the flip step, you could use the trailer tongue as your step to the porch step. That's what I do until I get to the campsite and disconnect the trailer.

On my Adventurer 86FB the salesman asked me if I ever intended on towing anything. He mentioned that the comfort steps will greatly extend how far the hitch needs to go. I am one of those weird truck campers who actually prefer scissor steps though!

Congrats...our Adventurer was a great camper for 10 fun years.When we ordered the Eagle Cap we went with the smaller/shorter bumper (I cant remember which is which) as the extended one was too much for towing IMO. It was nice...but VERY wide.Even the standard is quite large (IIRC 11" wide ) and makes for an easy step up.Congrats....looks like a spending spree here on the forum!B

That was what I was concerned about. How far that deck stuck out. As well as the mounted 2 steps below. If possible I now leave my trailer connected when I can. The super step is what I thought would be better suited for my application., However I can't seem to find a picture to see. The Dealer did tell me it was very similar to what I have on my existing camper.This purchase is part of a long range plan. I hope it holds up well. Thanks. I purchased an 89RB back in February, it's been good to me. I have the comfort step and it is awesome but if you tow all the time you may not like it. I've not even towed yet (long story) but I'm hoping I could jacknife the trailer enough to still be able to drop the step. It certainly does require a longer extension, the comfort step itself is 18" wide and it's 21" including the step brackets. We've found it very useful as a small deck and I even find myself sitting on it quite often.I'll personally never have a camper with scissor steps again. even on my last camper I through them away and used a little giant step ladder.The super step is just the square tubing (4" maybe) with a single fold down step so it would definately be better for towing.I guess it depends on how much you tow.

I just bought an AF 811. What did you use of the B-Quiet products? I see there are several...Dampers, Absorbers, and Composites, and a couple models of each of the Dampers and Composites. Also, prices vary substantially on the different products.

Thanks also for the heads-up on the Onan resonator. I think I'll be adding one to mine as well if I have enough of a straight run of tailpipe to cut off to accommodate it.

Another advantage of the built is generator is being able to run it and the AC while driving. Often on a very hot day we will start them up an hour or so before we arrive at our campsite and everything is nice and cool when we stop.

The Fox Landing was introduced with the 2012 AF models. If your trailer has a fixed tongue jack, you may need a longer extension to clear the landing. This was the reason we did not get one. Towing lighter loads or having a heavier, this may not be an issue.

If you plan to tow heavy, try to keep the rear TC overhang to s minimum to reduce the length of the receiver extension.

Butch, we're hijacking this poor thread. Does it even matter who came out first...but if we're comparing, the AF did not offer the landing on the 2011 models that we considered and the comfort step was out on the Adventurers before. We saw the Fox landing only last year. Doesn't matter to me, I prefer our comfort step...lots of room.

That is good to know. Here's the thing. This new camper ...I hope to have for a long time. I do travel with a Labrador retriever when hunting or if my wife was to come along the dog would be with us. Having the Gen Set , if i wanted to pull into a resturaunt I could put the dog in the camper and put the A/C on if it was hot out. So I wouldn't have to worry about him. To be very honest. The generator was more for being able to keep the dog comfortable in the heat. Rather than leaving him in a hot truck while I took in a site. Or stopped to eat. Their is a lot to be said about the convenience of just pushing a button.

No doubt the Onans are noisier than the portables. Being able to set the portable away from the TC also helps. But we still like the convenience of a one touch button to start the on board unit up, and no setting up and taking down. There are also a few things that you can do to help with the noise.
