New East to West Travel Trailers

Sold my '13 White Hawk, which was an outstanding TT, and was planning on buying a Class "C". However; life happens and we're now looking at another TT. Recently looked at the new Della Terra "East to West" brand and am impressed with the workmanship and amenities offered for a very reasonable price. Looking at model 29KRK, a read kitchen unit. Construction is stick-n-tin so they are somewhat heavier, which I don't have an issue with. What I'm asking is, "does anyone own one of these and, if so, any comments good or bad?" I did a search on RV Net but came up empty. Thanks.....
  • Looks pretty much like any other travel trailer coming out of a factory in Elkhart / Goshen area.
  • New to this forum but have been on the FR forum for quite awhile. We also have bought the East to West brand only it is a 29k2s. Lots of storage but some of the same problems that any make has. Its three feet longer that the Rockwood we are in the process of selling, but manageable. Only had it since Friday but already have some changes in mind. Really like most of the workmanship, wood moldings and such.
    Gladly discuss anything you'd like.

Thanks Bob, we liked the 29K2S also. These TTs are a little heavy on the tongue weight, wondering how it tows with a 1/2 ton. Appreciate your comment on workmanship.
  • We were looking at many different makes but the EW had a lot more storage, and no fake walls to hide wiring which can be used for more storage. There's just two of us but it feels super big. Having problems with delam with the Rockwood and didn't want to deal with it anymore. Now I'll have to deal with black streaks.
Also, on the trip home from the dealer, about an hour in the wind, there was hardly any sway and I attribute that too the extra weight.
I stopped at a scale on the weight home and found the tongue weight with battery and propane at 1160. Much heavier than advertised but they all seem to do that.
    Good Luck on your choice.

on the "way" home (to get a weight)
  • Thanks Bob, yea there's only 2 of us also. I found it a little strange that the KRK has 50 lbs heavier tongue weight than the K2S as the KRK is 2 feet shorter. Like you, I feel that extra weight will make for a better tow. Cheers!
  • Sorry for the grammar mistake NM. Guess my 12 grade education didn't take. Glad someone like you caught it.
