Ok... I am currently looking to purchase a new Ford 350 dually. Is it me or are the newer F 350's higher off the ground? I have a 1995 Tritan V10 dually that seems to cower compared to the new ones. I have the old 76 Amerigo with old hand crank jacks. Not sure exactly how high I can extend these dinosaurs, but I get nervous extending them as far as I do to get her on my 95 Ford. If the newer trucks "beds" sit higher, I just don't think my jacks would go that high. Any comments as to otherwise? Anyone know how far the new truck beds sit?

Newer Superduty trucks cabs are higher and generally the beds are higher off the ground as well.

On mine, it is 35" from the ground to the bottom of the bed.It is 54" from the ground to the top of the bed rails.

According to the 2013 F250/F350/F450 Configurations Specs book, the F350 2WD SRW is the lowest at 33.8" from open tailgate to ground, plus 20" to top of bed rails. The F350 2WD Dually is close at 34.1"; F350 4WD Dually is next at 35.6" - all these measurements are for the long bed with a wheelbase of 172.4" - don't believe there has been much change for the 2014 or the 2015 model years on these figures, but haven't printed out the new model year source books.

The trend has been for trucks to get higher and more "jacked-up" looking as time goes on.For the poser crowd it's perfectly fine, but for the guys that actually work the trucks it's getting difficult because 5th wheels and goosenecks no longer clear the bed rails or run uphill so bad you have to put a 4" lift kit on the trailer.Jacking them up does nothing for ground clearance. The pumpkin is still going to be dragging first.

Is your truck a 95 or a V10? It doesn't really matter, since the new ones are higher than both. They do sit higher, but I think they squat a little more for the same weight. It gives the springs more room to move for a softer ride, thou the '14 HD shoutout claims the Ford rode the worst.

My 2000 F350 SC 4x4 DRW and my 2015 F350 CC 4x4 DRW are the same height at bed floor, bed rails and at the roof. No change.

They are the same height.
My 2005 F350 dually CC and my 2015 F350 dually CC both fit into my garage with about 1" inch of clearance between the cab roof and the garage door.
(The height can be verified by researching the Ford truck specs available online - which I did before buying the new truck to insure that I would be able to garage it.)

My camper doesn't have to go any higher to load on the new truck than the old truck - I've marked the extended leg as reference and it hasn't changed.

Sooooo, don't hyper extend the jacks. Just add a block of wood.

When we quick camp, I often have to ride the front end up blocks to level...6, 8" sometimes. My front jacks won't reach the ground then. I just stick one of the 6x8's I carry under each jack. Bada bing..

That is a really low bed. My 2000, 4x4, F350 SRW bed is about 35" above the ground.

I do not know how high they go but i just bought a 73 amerigo this weekend out if a hunt camp. I had no trouble lifting it high enough to get it out of the b ed of my 2000 f250 superduty and the bed is aproximatelu 26 inches off the ground.

Sorry...my truck now is a 1999 Ford V 10. I was thinking of my van, which was a 95. Regardless thanks for the info.

Bed rails are taller, cab is taller, tailgate area is narrower.
