- SoundGuyExplorerWow, that's one teeny weeny (79 cc) engine for a so-called 2400 watt genset! :E Geez, the Yamaha EF2400iSHC has a 171 cc engine ... now which one in this class do you think would be up to the task? :h
- edekgbExplorerIm looking for small and quite and for the price it has an under 60db rating and 43 pounds heavy. Supposed to be extremly fuel efficient also. Amps look good but before ordering it i was wanting to ask opinion as i am very new to rving. My little 19 foot trailer probably dosent require a lot of watts overall but hoping to start up ac compressor with other things off if its hot.

Westinghouse has a new stronger invertor generater. WH2400i. Will this power my new 2016 amerilite 198bh air conditioner? It is a 8000 btu fridgedair ac.
How is it stronger? It seems the tiny engine would make it weaker.
I would not waste my money on the Westinghouse. It's probably another cheap Chinese knockoff.
Buy a Honda, Yamaha or Champion. They have a proven track record. - edekgbExplorerStronger in comparison to the WH2000ixlt rated at 1800/2200 watts and 15/18.3 amps where the new release is 2100/2400 watts with 17.5/20 amps.
- MFLNomad IIThere are times that you can get the Champion 3100 inverter for close to $700. That would work for your AC, and many have given it good reviews. IMO, this is the best quiet generator out there, for the dollars spent.

Either you haven't read the WH2400i Spec Sheet or you don't understand what those noise specs mean ... 59dbA at 50% load isn't exactly "quiet". No wonder - that little 79 cc engine would be working it's little heart out powering an inverter surge rated to 2400 watts. :E - edekgbExplorerI look to use it about 15 times a year for a day or two at a time. I won't be using it daily for extended periods of time. I realize the longevity of the 1 grand Honda but it's hard for me to buy a 1 grand inverter generator for a 10k trailer im gonna use for camping. I don't even know if the 2000watt Honda will start up my AC. Im under the impression that these smaller class inverters won't get my AC started but I don't know and don't want to spend a G trying to find out. This 2400 Westinghouse is advertising 2100/2400 watts and hire amps. ???
- edekgbExplorerThank you MFL, I will look into this Champion. Im not sold on this Westinghouse and this is helpful.
- edekgbExplorernoise spec pretty straight forward. Westinghouse 2400 is rated the same as the 2000 in decibels.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-xQICrujJc - edekgbExplorer2400 watts not enough to kick on compressor for a sec and then 2100 running watts won't keep it going. I don't think the 8000 btu ac will even stay running at 2100 watts continually. I don't know
