New shocks for 08 2500 with Dmax

I am thinking of replacing my shocks on my truck to get a little better ride but not too soft for towing. My truck is only 2 wheel drive and I was thinking of some Bilsteins or maybe an adjustable variety. Anyone done this?

I replaced the factory shocks on my 04 about a month after I bought it new with Bilsteins, best thing we did. Factory shocks, even when new aren't up to towing, and the bilsteins give much better control and ride even though they have more compression damping.
Go with the yellow HD bilsteins. Now after 120K, they are still holding up well.
  • I put Bilstiens on my Dmax, and frankly I could not tell the differance in ride from the original equipment shocks. Did the swap at 50k miles at all corners.
  • I second the Bilsteins. Put them on and it really helped give a smoother ride without giving up control. I noticed they were easier to compress than the factory ones. It stopped the porpoising we were feeling when towing.
  • I put Bilsteins on our Duramax...I like how it feels daily driving and towing.
They aren't adjustable and I don't care about adjusting them. Just want to get in and go.
Maybe if I off-roaded a lot I would think differently getting shocks that are adjustable.
