New to TT and need some info

I traded the MH for a TT , it's a 2015 Surveyor 220 RBS. It has a hitch weight of 486 lbs, a UVW of 4329lbs, a CCC of 3157 lbs, and a GVWR of 7486 lbs. I Need to purchase a tow vehicle and have been looking at a 2014 Nissan Armada Platinum. Supposedly the Armada has a 9500 lb towing capacity, my question is what are the views of this combination?? will it be a good tow vehicle or do I look at something else. Thank you for any input a newbie can use.

  • Artum Snowbird...thanks for your help, like I said it's all new to me, I'm trying to learn.. I doubt if I could put that much weight since it will only be the DW and myself plus any food and water that gets added.
  • Dry weight is 4415, I looked it up. Hitch weight is of course, when the rig is dry. If you put weight in it, hitch weight can vary. You actually had the gross weight right at first, then you changed it to the dry weight. Gross is still 7486. But to put 3000 pounds into that small a camper would take an awful lot.

Yes, I think you are fine with the tow vehicle, as long as you can get add on mirrors to see past the sides of the rig.
  • Tucson Jim, sorry about those numbers, had them mixed up. Have corerected them thanks to you.

Rich - Something is not adding up in your numbers. The CCC can't be more than the GVWR. I thing you're getting dry weight mixed up with GVWR. GVWR is the maximum the TT can weigh when fully loaded. Can you post new numbers?
  • What is the cargo capacity of said Nissan Armada? That is the piece of info you need to start.
