My wife and I are looking at travel trailers and think we have found the one we like. We will be towing the trailer with a ram 2500 diesel and the trailer weighs around 6k. I don't see any problems with the truck towing it. The dealer said a sway bar would be needed. This is our first trailer and I'm looking for all advise I can get . I'm sure I'll gave more questions as I'm still reading a lot of post on here. Thanks,Brian

Welcome to the forum. What you want is a good weight distributing hitch. Equlaizer, Blue Ox Pro, and Reese Straight Line all have a big following.

Try it without it and then decide. My son has the same truck with a long bed and pulls about 6,000 without WDH.

My recommendation as well. I am a fan of the Reese SL ( dual cam ) but all are good.

You may or may not absolutely need WDH but it will for certain handle better with it.

There aren't many things more frightening than getting into an uncontrolled sway situation. Get a sway bar, learn how to PROPERLY adjust it, and use it

We are looking at the wild wood 26 btss I think was the model. I'm going to check those sway bars out for sure as safety is always a concern. Since this is my first trailer any tips on setting up and what to have ?
