I agree with GO BIG OR GO HOME ! ! !

With the combination of super short Wheelbase ( shorter frame) , DRW, and that light weight bear keg fuel tank I'd say 50'+ ... Nice find ! :B

And I bet it WAS posted on 3/31.... good Ole Grit is on that " SPECIAL" List ! ! :B

Go with whatever trailer fits your needs, as long as you have a 2500 it will pull it, too many get caught in the weeds of ratings etc

National Trailer Convoy INC from the late '40s/'50s used very short tow trucks like the pic to tow house trailers in that era. Of course house trailers (later called mobile homes ) back then were about 35'-40' max. NTC had dozens on the road just in Tulsa, OK alone for Spartan house trailer mfg in Tulsa.

^ See, thatโ€™s what I was thinking. Can pull a much longer trailer and be within the overall length regs for combination vehicles.
And the whole broken frame thing is of greatly reduced potential. Beings thereโ€™s not much frame between the axles!
Seems like the perfect solution to all the rvnet worries!

Yep. still see quite a few of them in various places up here.

...and to the OP's question "how long", I saw something very similar pulling a DC-3 the other day...so 60-ish feet.

Exactly...an those old chebbs only had a 8,600 GVWR! The Cummins diesel in those were heavy. With a curb wt of 8,200, plus 2 people an dog, you couldn't carry nuttin!:p

That there's got wunna 'dem Ay-Ay-Emm axles under it, rated for 10 skamillion lbs. The factory numbers are meaningless. Load and go. Just don't post on facebook when you break your frame, or everyone will turn on you.

If OP intended for us to read his post on the 1st, he would have had to make post on Mar 31st, for it to magically appear on 4-1.:C:)

Hahahaha youโ€™re probably right!

Wish I had it cued up for April 1 but Iโ€™ve been a bit behind lately. ..
