New type sway control

I have been thinking of the hensley or the propride, but God are they pricey. I do have the built in friction equalizer bars, but I was thinking of going to the reese cam. Now I see this. In conjunction with the reese cam, it may be the answer for avoiding catastrophe with violent sway event and it is relatively inexpensive. Its a sensor than applies either side trailer brakes to stop sway. Look at the video. It would be at the very least a good fail safe device.

  • I have a 2014 F150 that has a built in sway control. It automatically applies the truck brakes and trailer brakes as needed. I hope I never have to use it.

Probably but 5th wheels don't really sway like a TT.

    Thanks for posting

I'm in same boat about the prices. I caught this about a year ago.

    Dexter also has one. http://dexteraxle.com/i/u/6149609/f/product_flyers/Sway_Control.pdf

My goal is to have disk brakes eventually and elec anti-sway would not work with elec brakes I don't think. I could be totally wrong, but not sure?

I dislike buying anything "new" that hasn't been around for a long time. I also went to the largest Dexter axle dealer in my area to find out what they thought and how many "come backs" they had. They thought I was screwed up and pulling their leg. It was first time they even heard about them was from me. Got back home an E-mailed the info and they were surprised and was going to get more info from Dexter but never heard another word from them.

I watch Craiglist daily for a used Pro pride or Hensley, no luck yet.
  • Pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing that. I wonder how it'd work with older trucks? I'm guessing just fine, but I may contact them to be sure.

I also wonder if your average RV shop could/would install. I'm horrible with wiring.
  • I've seen it before, but never known anyone who has one.
