This seems to be the prevailing views of these vehicles. Maybe someday someone will actually build more than a prototype. The gamer world was always full of this type of vaproware. Everybody would get all worked up and then would come the big announcement: "Maybe next year". fj12ryder wrote:

Probably right. It seems adding two years to any electric timeline is the more realistic approach.
Still though. Most will probably eventually arrive...and competition is a good thing.- ShinerBockExplorer

This happens a lot in many industries. Marketing departments create hype to increase share prices and gain more investors. It also garners more publicity for their brand due to the fanboys of such tech sharing it all the time. The fools and newbies of these industries would fall for it, but those with some common sense that have been around a while usually don't. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIYeah, I read that Nikola's stock took a big jump right after the announcement. So it could all just be a ploy for stock manipulation.
- BB_TXNomadLIke it or not, it is coming. Keeps improving and sooner or later there will be a major breakthru. There will be huge profits for who gets there first.
New battery technology in the works.

Nobody said anything about not liking it, just the plethora of "announcements" of new vehicles that never seem to materialize.

Yeah, up 48% in one day...... It is very beneficial for someone to create hype like this all over the media and forums like these.
Almost makes you wonder if people are doing it on purpose sometimes. - Best of luck to both GM and Nikola. I don't see hydrogen actually making economic sense at this time. The BEV version of the Badger might work.

..........
The market is driven by speculators. Those seeking to make a profit, quick or long term, are fast to buy on any promising news and that drives the price up. And they are just as quick to bail on any hint of bad news and that drives the price down. And automated computer buy/sell programs compound the problem.
