No power to 7 pin plug

Hoping that someone may have a suggestion to troubleshoot this...

I have no power to my plug on the truck or to my brake controller, I have checked the fuses and all are good but brake controller is not working and I have no turn signals, running lights or brake lights on the trailer when I am plugged in to truck.

Everything was running fine when I last had the trailer hooked up about a month ago

Any suggestions ???
  • Start checking the plug on the TV. If all is working there, then likely you have a broken wires or bad trailer plug end.
  • Hi. Have you checked the brake-away unit to see if its seated?

Check the plug and receiver for corrosion?

If there is a fuse block in side the RV, Check there?

With a test lite you can see if there is power to the fuse block, you made need help here.

When all else falls hand over hand the wiring.

Check to see if TV and RV are grounded?

Make sure the pins for plug and received are correct. One thru 7.
  • Yes, a test light on your truck plug 1st. If good work your way backwards.
  • spray a wee bit of WD40 on that end before you.

    sometimes its little stuff..
  • Thanks for the help and suggestions.
It turned out to be the 30A fuse on stud #2, I had put in a new fuse but it must have been defective out of the pack because it looks good with no sign of being blown, when I swapped it out for a different fuse everything worked fine. :B
