North Trail 24 BHS King Bed Mod
Has anyone modified a north trail 24BHS (or similar) to fit a king mattress? It doesn't look super feasible, but am curious. Thanks! Jordan

Assuming you are looking for width , the first thing to do is measure to see if a wider king mattress would still work as a walk-a-round island bed. It's going be tighter to make the bed. ( due to the beds front location, be advised this mod might add some tongue weight, just be sure your hitch and TV are up to the task)
Now decide if this additional expense is worth it to you.
You would have to remodel the night stand cabinets on each side. Anyone with carpentry skills can do it. Trim it down, rebuild or do away with the drawer if you have them .
The platform under the mattress would need to changed. I would install a new sheet of plywood opposed to adding an additional layer which would be too heavy to lift. As it is, you will probably need new heavier duty pistons to lift the larger/heavier wood platform and larger mattress.
Consider using 2 twins together, use a one pc. topper or just a king sheet to keep them together. It would be easier to install the 2 smaller mattresses and it offers individual firmness.
