Don't know if it's still the same since we're non-campers now, but we made reservations at a GA State CG and it was NOT site specific. When we pulled after a long, long drive, we found that unoccupied sites had been paid for by someone in a group, tossed out a couple of chairs - or not - and even though it looked relatively empty, we could not find a site. To say that DH was irritable is an understatement. We had our paperwork for our reservation and headed for the CG host. He apologized all over the place and after making several laps did find a site for us and it was very nice. But with a site being taken when there is no unit there and just putting up signs + not being able to reserve site specific meant that we weren't going to make that drive to find out we were out of luck. If you're thinking of GA, make sure you clarify.
