Noticed it last night in the shower and today the wife mentioned it after using the bathroom sink and kitchen sink. Hot water faucet delivers good hot water and I haven't messed with anything since we have been camping regularly. Any thoughts? I was wondering if maybe the water is just warm because it's in the mid 90's with heat index of 100 to 105 but it feels unusually warm.

It could be that the ambient temps are so high that the water in the tanksare quite warm. The last 3 trips I made, the temps were > 90F and I have notswitched on the water heater - the showers are not cold bit not hot either.

I suspect the outside temp is the cause. If you run it long enough to clear out your water hose and the inside lines in the RV, it will get cooler. Water in a hose gets VERY hot. If it's from a RV tank, it will be at ambient temperatures not very long after you fill it.On the plus side, your water heater doesn't have to do a lot of work. :D

When you put water in a tank and the tank is inside of a hot trailer that water will be as warm as the temp surrounding the tank. Sounds like the water could be 90 to 100 degrees +. Yes, the water will feel warm.

or....if you are using water from the campground through a hose...the water in the hose is getting heated by the sun/ambient temperature.

or the outside shower valves are open.

Noticed warm water comes out of cold faucets. Why?

I'm with the folks suspecting solar heating of the hose and other plumbing. Over the years I've found it common for the water in the hose and plumbing to get pretty warm through the course of the day, especially if the hose is in the sun.

When camping on the nice warm sands of Saudi Arabia thanks to Uncle Sam, we were using water bladders sitting out in the sun and filled by tanker trucks to provide water for showers. You learned real quick that you either took a shower first thing in the am, or not at all unless it had recently been filled by the truck. The water would get uncomfortably hot over the course of the day.

We have friend who had a trailer that the toilet was plumbed wrong and had hot water in the toilet. Under certain conditions you could flush and see steam. RV quality control at it's best.

the tank usually has a "back flow" preventer valve to stop water from moving back from the tank thru the cold line. That valve could be stuck open so when only cold is selected, hot can flow backwards to the cold line.

I'll check the outside shower. I'm running the water from the campground through a hose so not using the holding tank. I'm not a fan of cold water anyway so this just makes it better.

My thought too.

If you have an outside shower and shut off the water at the shower head and left the hot and cold valves open, hot water from your water heater can mix with your cold water plumbing.

I lived in Yuma and summer T would be 119 every day with 122 for a high one day. Pool water was 85 and didn't cool you off much. Check the temp with a kids thermometer, you know the one you shove .......

We are in Lake Havasu City and temps have been above 120 so we have not turned the heater on in weeks. Water right out of the ground is warm enough to bathe and I like really hot showers.
