Now I know the converter is bad what to replace with

I now no my converter is bad and I am looking at converters on Amazon. I only carry one large deep cell on my truck camper. Is a 55 amp converter charger to big. I think OEM is 45 amp. Also I am looking at this power max clicky

What do you all think.
What size converter would you go with.

I am thinking about trying to fix my old converter but for this price I am thinking replacing is better.

Thanks
  • One battery? Go small like 35 amp is fine. Smaller Powermax will do better at charging since it drops to float as soon as it hits 14.6 volts.

I swapped my failed 55a WFCO for a 35a WFCO and it works fine in my trailer. I went 35a so that I might eventually get a small Honda 1000 and not have any issues.
  • With the charge wizard you can manually turn down the charge to 13.2 amps charge and reduce the ac amp draw ( I don't remember how much this is for a PD 9145a which is a 45amp convereter), works well with a small AC and portable gen
I moved my battery to here and added one

And put the converter and a inverter and inverter sub panel here under the dinette adjacent to the old gen comp
  • Okay thanks folks. I ordered the powermax 45 amp. I went with the 45 amp in case I add another battery. Which I may if my propane fridge dies. Because then I will probably go with a 12 volt fridge.
