The Power wagon would have made it up the hill if he had gone to the left side of the trail where it bogged down. Like the other two trucks did afterward. they avoided the part where the Dodge was slipping and had no issues. Better tires on the Dodge would help as well. Would like to see a repeat of the test with all three having the same brand and tread pattern tires.
Not sure I agree with this... The Power Wagon's Goodyear tires are probably the most aggressive of the bunch and the PW did try to go around but it's weight worked against it.
And the PW would do even worse with a diesel engine like some want. Perrysburg Dodgeboy wrote:

I agree, the Rebel would have probably done better on that hill. But like I said before, I like the apples-to-oranges comparisons because it highlights the strengths and weaknesses of different classes of vehicles. I don't see it as a Ford vs. Chevy vs. Ram thing like many do.DaveF-250SD wrote:

Civics are good in snow.
On topic, here's a different perspective.

Civics are no better and no worse than any other small front wheel drive car. They don't have a lot of ground clearance like most other sedans, although they do have one advantage...they're relatively light weight, which is a big advantage when it comes to pushing them out of being stuck in a snow drift.
If a Civic has good winter...or good all weather tires on that will make the difference in their ability to get around in heavy winter conditions. It's about the effectiveness of the tires in snow. - IdaDExplorerA Rubicon Wrangler or similar aftermarket built Jeep would run circles around all of them. Pickups have some inherent disadvantages offroad.
- Perrysburg_DodgExplorerBack in the day I ran Dodge Ram Chargers and took them off roading with some buddies of mine. The only thing that could out do my Ram was a buddies fj40. That thing was a beast in any off road environment. Heck he could forge water over the hood. I had to make up a cover to protect the stupid ballast resistor from getting wet and stopping the truck dead in the water!
The one thing I noticed is Ram is the only one that has a shield protecting the fuel tank. Found that a bit strange.
I also don't understand why they didn't use the Ram Rebel instead of the Power Wagon. No the Rebel does not the same off road components that the Raptor and Power Wagon have. But neither does the GM ZR2. Here is a sisde be side test of the Power Wagon and the Rebel. The Reble did very well. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/05/can-a-ram-rebel-keep-up-with-a-power-wagon-in-the-arizona-desert-.html
Still think it came down to the tries on the Power Wagon myself
