Our First TC!

We brought our 2000 Arctic Fox 1150 home yesterday! In high winds! The good news is that the damage might not be as bad as originally thought (although it will still be a huge job). The other good news is that we've already learned so much from all of you! Going from a class A motorhome to a 35 ft. fifth wheel and now to a TC, we have a lot to learn. But we LOVE our TC and can't wait to use it. Even though our 5th wheel was brand new and had a porch, I think we are more in love with the TC already. We stopped on the way home to eat and parked in a regular parking spot! I will definitely start a thread on the repairs once we get underway. We hope to be finished by fall.

We travel with three mutts as well. All are not fancy bred dogs, gifts from our kids as our older "on pourpose" dogs passed. A Schauzer, a one eyed Carin Terrier and the youngest, our Energizer bunny dog, half Mini Aussie half white dog with stand up ears of unknown heritage, just small. We raised Rotties for several years and my female was a super dog. She was protective but not aggressive and had her Schutzhaund II degree. She would have died for us without giving it a thought. Lost her at 10 to cancer. Still tear up when I think of her. She nursed two litters of KITTENS and loved babies. I did always treat her like a loaded gun tho since she was trained for protection and took her job seriously but traveled well and never threatened anyone who didn't deserve it. Our vet loved her and cried right along with me when she passed. OK, enough. Enjoy the camper and here's hoping we meet in our travels some time.

I just love the enthusiasm and can-do spirit of nubies to the TC world. Every day is brand new.....for a while.

We've never plugged in anywhere, not with our motorhome or with our 5th wheel. We are total boondockers! So you see, the TC just seemed natural. 🙂

:h I'm trying to figure out how you're gonna meet one of us to get the secret decoder ring. You need that too!

I HAVE to ask...how does the rottie get up on the bed?

Might invest in a set of steps to help up. Lifting is bad for your back and jumping is hard on the TC. 🙂

Noticed you have Bostons. Three to boot. Wife and I have a Boston. Lots of dog in a little body. Maggie likes to travel, camp and boss our other dogs. A lab and a pug.

Looks great. Best of luck with it. Extended bump stop are definitely worth it wether it be the stable loads, homemade or other brands it really helps to have the overload spring engage sooner. I went with Energy Suspension extended bump stops which compress. My thinking was I'd rather have a progressive engagement rather that an on/off type setup like the stable loads. Energy Suspension. I think I used part# 9.9109 on my 05 Ram. Worked great with my 05 AF1150 and my current Lance 1181, both heavy campers.

Oh I'm sorry. It is hard to let them go for sure. But I can't imagine life without dogs. We've had lots of rescues and I think every single one of them ends up having some crazy disease we've never heard of before. Our Rottweiler was so sick when we got him (at 7 mos. old) and we found out he had giardia that would NOT clear up and he is allergic to 24 things! He's on a special diet and also on allergy shots. He's so much better now but only weighs 75 pounds. Small for a Rottie. He's allergic to mosquitoes too so we'll be sure to take Benadryl with us when we go camping!

Haha! You're so right. Our first dog that we used to take tent camping loooooved to roll in stinky stuff and then he'd get cold at night so he'd crawl into my sleeping bag all the way to the bottom. Our dogs wouldn't know what to do if they didn't sleep with us. They are so very spoiled! And our Rottweiler loves the water, so...

They certainly look happy. The smile on the left almost looks like a Photoshop.

That's funny! The one on the right actually smiles all the time so we named our embroidery business SmileDog Embroidery and our logo is a smiling Boston Terrier. 🙂
