Out of state delivery

Has anyone purchased their camper in another state and had it delivered? We're going to fly down and check the camper out prior to purchase but due to time constraints I think we'll have it delivered.
Aside from proper insurance, is there anything I should be thinking of?

Thanks

What about one of the members on here pick it up for you, and bring it to your place?
Most of us who are retired have time on our hands, and do drive trucks equipt for camper tie downs and such.

It is your obligation to check who will bid on your transport and select reputable carriers from hillbillies who drive 1981 F250.
Chances are that when F250 breaks - you will have to collect the camper from the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.

This is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Can anybody reccomend a shipper?

I think his point is, do your homework on Uship. It works; we use it often, but you have to do your homework...which takes all of about 2 minutes. Lowest bidder is not always what you are looking for.

Shippers have ratings, easy to read, and listings of what they offer (insurance, MC #'s, etc).

It's competitive and the prices are low. It's always a debate for me whether to use it or make a road trip out of it. I've shipped campers, trailers, heavy equipment etc., on it.

Avoiding taxes on out of state delivery is one thing, but transport of TC is not easy to manage.

Living in CA I have big incentive of buying vehicles and RV far away and doing it more than 10 times, always squeezed small vacations out of it.

I bought from East End Campers in New York. Because of the sales tax, the camper was transported to New Hampshire where I did the final purchase without sales taxes.

We dealt with Tom's 2 1/2 years ago on a purchase of a used Lance 830. We took delivery in California. They were very upfront about the entire process and I would certainly buy from them again.

If you buy a camper from a state other than the one you live in and they deliver it in another state than the one they sold it in, you don't have to pay the seller's state sales tax.

For example; In my case, I live in California. I buy a camper in Arizona. I have them deliver it to me across the border in California, so I didn't pay Arizona sales tax.
Since California does not title campers, I didn't pay California sales tax.
