Outback terrain 250trs

I have been looking at hybrids but the Outback Terrain 250trs has caught my attention. Three questions:

1) does anybody know the interior height for this camper? I am 6'6" tall (78") and many (most?) campers are only 78" interior height so I need one that is at least 80".

2) why can't I find a dealer in Texas with this camper? I live between Houston, Dallas and San Antonio show you would think a dealer with 3 hours drive would have it.

3) anybody know of other brands that have a model similar to the 250trs?

Edit: added 3rd question
  • My Kodiak 240KSSL is the exact same layout as the Outback 250TRS, both now owned by Keystone and has the high doomed ceiling. I'm only 6 ft but it was one of the reasons we bought this trailer, with the 2 slides and the high interior, the trailer feels very open and big.

We love ours, only complaints is the front bunks get a little small now that the kids are getting bigger, but one can sleep on the pull out couch to over come that...

    Good luck.
  • We have a 250TRS on order since March 27th. Scheduled to be born(coming of the factory line)tomorrow! Dealer is going to send someone to pick it up on Monday. There are not many new Terrain's on the dealer lots as Keystone is behind schedule and delivery drivers are hard to find recently. Check with the Outback dealers in Texas as they may have some on order.

    Should be plenty of headroom

  • Not sure if they have a floorplan that will work for you, but we seriously considered a Bullet (also from Keystone) because of their domed interior.
  • The Outback Terrains have a domed cieling, and is 83" high in the center, and 78" against the wall (just went outside and measured my own Outback Terrain). The shower also has a big skylight so even with your height, you'll prob fit. I'm 6'1" and have several inches above me to spare. At the highest point the skylight is 79" above the shower floor.

Many brands made the exact same Floorplan as the 250, but I don't think any do currently. Frontier, KZ, ect. They all had 78" ceilings though.
  • Keystone split up the Outback line and made the smaller models Outback Terrain for 2014. You may find some older 250RS Outbacks that also meet your needs.

There have been other brands making rear hard slide models like KZ Spree, Rockwood Roo, Jayco too but they all seem to be gone.
