- Stars101ExplorerThanks so much! Looking forward to a trip report on the activities when you get home and have a few minutes. It looked like a very full program...
I wouldn't want to roll out of the roof tent in that red Jeep! It looks like you'd keep right on rolling until you hit the ground on the driver's side LOL. - silversandExplorerOverland Expo East:
We arrived at the site Saturday; here we are with OBXcamper, BTGgrafix, La Dawn, Silverdunes (far left):
Great evening around fire, and getting ready for a heavy frost in the 20sF (29F when I made this photo at 6AM from truck camper section a few hours ago, Sunday):
Taken just ~10 minutes before sunrise this morning, fields heavy with frost: - silversandExplorerwe've arrived in Fletcher; will be at OEx grounds this morning. Pix to follow :D

This seems to be a common Chevy problem.
I've never heard of this being a common Chevy problem before.
What caused the leak? Did the lines rust through? If so, did they rust from the outside?
Is the truck driven in winter in areas where a lot of salt and deicer get spewed all over the road?
Looking forward to hearing about the East Cost OX14 event.
The line(s) rusted through along the frame under the drivers side. If you google chevy brake line rust it will open your eyes. They did not use stainless steel lines. My truck was never driven on salted winter roads but has made quite a few trips to the coast. I was always diligent about underbody washing after a coastal trip.
OE East, I'm hoping my garage will be done with brake repair by tomorrow, if so I'll only miss one day. If I go, I'll post plenty of pics. - trail-explorerExplorer

- CptnBGExplorerDang the bad luck. :(
Bought weekend pass and on-site camping pass over a month ago. Was really looking forward to this trip. Went into town yesterday to top off gas, propane and fill up fridge. Came home, backed into the drive and the brake pedal went to the floor. Found a major leak in the brake line along the frame at under the drivers side.
This seems to be a common Chevy problem. Unloaded camper (had to re-install jacks) this am. Garage coming to tow and replace all the brake lines. Probably won't be done until Friday. Was planning to hit the road Thursday.:( I may still try to do a day trip Saturday/Sunday. - More2ExploreExplorerBowing out on this one.....and bummed about it!!!
