Was once upon a time. Found trips so miserable it usually took me a full day to unwind. Not fun and I finally fixed the situation.

Yep, considering what % of your payload you are over is much more relevant. 600 over when your payload is 4500 is way different than 600 over when your payload is 1400.

My 2004 Dodge 3500 Diesel was about 600# over GVWR with a light 2,400# loaded camper. Now, my 2015 Ram 3500 is about 1,600# under GVWR with same camper. Both trucks handle the camper about the same, both under GAWR and both under tire rating.

I haven't weighed the newer truck and older camper together. My guess is I'm probably under my 14500 GVWR.

I have a 2012 F350 DRW with a gvwr of 13,300. Fully loaded to the gills it's about13.900. I have upper and lower stableloads and a big wig sway bar.

With today's heavily amenity laden campers, most folks are likely over somewhat - a seasoned topic often 'amass' with virtue...

Weigh the back, weigh the front.... Check your tire max weight capacity... Dually rears subtract <>200lbs per tire... Bet you are under the true handling weight of your truck...
Check the Gross rear end axle weight and the front suspension.

We have discussed this topic way past a blue in the face thing....

My Bfoot camper only adds 300lbs to the front of the truck full loaded 50 gallons of water and and and.

Underweight by 600 lbs.
