Palomino Solaire and hitch

Lots of people go from 5th wheels to TTs. People who no longer want to tow with a HD pickup, want more use out of their bed, or got to a point in their life where the fewer the stairs the better lol. I have a Blue Ox Sway Pro and have been impressed with its performance. The Reese Straight Line is another good one. The Hensley or the Propride are the best hitches you can buy, but they have a considerable cost to them. Whatever hitch you get, hitches with integrated sway control makes life a lot easier.

I just sold our FW TH and bought 35ft TT. More bang for the buck and the wife and I both have beat up knees.
I pulled my in-laws 32ft Passport with just a friction bar a couple of times and it towed great. I towed the new 35ft TT home the same way and had a little sway. (3ft/1,800lb more than the Passport) I will probably by WD hitch with sway control built in.

We have a 2013 Solaire 269 BhDSK 32 foot travel trailer. We will begin our fourth season with it and love it. It has a unique look and is very aerodynamic. Easy to tow with our F150 that has 5.4 engine and all the towing options. We use the Equalizer 10,000lb. Hitch system and tows like a dream.The four point sway control on the Equalizer works well with our trucks built in sway system. We have not had an major issues with our Solaire. When we picked it up in 13' we only had minor trim issues that our dealer fixed in a timely fashion. My only disappointent was the Lippert brand electric stabilizer jacks that only lasted 2.5 seasons. They are garbage. I replaced with made in America Bal manual stabilizer jacks that are easy to use and very sturdy. I also found the Lippert jacks very slow to wind up and down so they wasted time during set up and take down. Good Luck with your switch from a fiver to a travel trailer. Happy Trails! Lou
