Power while hooked up to TV

One thing to remember, it takes a well charged battery to operate the slides. Although being plugged into the truck helps, especially with engine running, the trailer battery may not operate the slide in a somewhat discharged condition.

Yes, assuming your TT has a battery and it's charged...

The battery will operate the slide, water pump,lights, usually radio if ther is one. These are what they consider essentials. They are run off your twelve volt system. None of the plugs in the camper will work unless plugged in.

It doesn't have to be hooked up to the Tundra, you just need to make sure the TT batteries are charged up. Don't run them down dry camping and then expect to operate the slide.

Good reason for two 12-volt deep cycle batteries.

When your TT is hooked to the tow vehicle (TV) the TT draws off both batteries if you do not have an isolator in the rv or TV .

They are normally installed in the TV , some have them from the factory not sure about Tundra.
Once you park and shut off the truck and deploy slide , I would unplug the TT from the truck if you plan to stay parked for awhile .
An isolator is a gate that keeps the TT isolated from the TV and will not run down the TV battery. Just remember to plug it back in before you travel again.
Isolator solenoids are very inexpensive and can be installed on the trucks firewall. It offers protection in case you have a weak RV battery, or a cell goes bad due to a floating short, causing a draw on the TV battery.
