- ejfranzExplorerDiesel is cheaper in BC than reg gas in some regions.
In Hope $1.049/L and the cheapest I saw for gas was $1.129/L on the #7 at the Chevron.
Closer to home diesel was $0.02/l more. - billyray50ExplorerWell I cannot remember how many years it has been since diesel was this cheap or cheaper than gas...Here was the price the other day in North Dallas!!
Filled up my 5.9 Cummins with Kroger fuel points!! - usmcshepherdExplorer IISaw diesel for $2.33 yesterday just north of Denver on HWY 76 while regular was $2.82. Of course this isn't a big surprise as crude hit a 6 year low last week. Part of my job is making recommendations to farmers as to when to purchase their diesel and while we are close to making a recommendation for fall needs, we believe we have some additional improvement in prices. The best price I've seen on a tanker load of farmer diesel was $1.70 so far.
- deserteagle56Explorer IIThis morning at the Flying J in Winnemucca, Nevada. Regular gas $2.85.9 per gallon. Diesel $2.65.9 per gallon.

True in the Sacramento California area. As for why, we will never know. Why is it that fuel can cost more where it is refined than where there are no refineries?

Fed, state and local tax. That and higher/lower demand local demand. CA is the worst. Don't worry. Any price drops will be short lived, like usual. - Reddog1Explorer IILess Stuff and Kayteg1 I really appreciate your choices of vehicles that resulted in the price of diesel going down. I bought my first diesel a 1996 Dodge (previously used) in 2001. I bought it because I liked everything about it, without giving any thought to the cost of diesel compared to gas. When I discovered diesel was cheaper, it was a bonus. My previous trucks were gas, and typically got about 10 MPG without a TC. During the past 14 years, with the cost of fuel going up and down, considering the MPG my diesel always cost less per mile in fuel. As for maintenance, the diesel was/is far less expensive than my gassers were.
My 1996 diesel has served me well, and still does. As a result, I am in the process of purchasing a 2004.5 Dodge diesel. My interest in the purchase is for the luxuries the 2004.5 has to offer, and with only 104,000 miles.
I hope you guys continue to buy gas vehicles.
Wayne - Kayteg1Explorer IILet's make it 2 of us Less.
I was buying diesel Mercedes for my family for last 15 years.
3 years ago I bought wagon, that comes with gasoline engine only as at the time Premium was cheaper than diesel.
Sold 2 of older diesel cars this spring and then when prices of diesel dropped like crazy.
Now driving wagon on premium cost about the same what my 9500lb dually on diesel. - Less_StuffExplorer

Recently, in Denver, I've been seeing diesel fuel for 20 cents a gallon less than gasoline. Is that the case in other parts of the country? Any explanation?
Every one with a Diesel engine should THANK me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Diesel was cheaper than gasoline.
THEN I bought a diesel powered trouble prone 2003 Chevy Duramax.
So besides all the truck repairs the price of diesel went above the price of gasoline.
I Sold that money pit and bought a gasoline powered vehicle.
So the price of diesel came down.
Your only worry is if I buy another diesel powered truck!!!!!!
Don't worry to much. - TrackrigExplorer II

The Saudis used to say as long as oil was 40 bucks a barrel they were happy. With it at 100 bucks can you imagine the love fest there?
They are trying to drive the fracking bunch out of business where they can and the regroup. They have been doing well with that till lately.
As we get more and more fuel efficient cars we will not need big oil.
Per the weekly Baker Hughes report the drill rig count in the US was up again for I think the 6th week in a row for total of 884 working rigs. Not a large increase, but it's better than going down.
