Privacy curtain

We just bought the KZ Frontier 2505 with the rear slide of the queen size bed. We are thinking of putting up a privacy curtain that would cover that would hang between the kitchen and the table and couch. I was wondering if anyone has done that before?? My kids like to take their friends with them camping and now we will have the room, but I would like to have a little privacy getting dress etc. I am not getting dressed in the bathroom and chances are I would be up before them. Any ideas. I thought of a tension rod, but I don't think I can get one long enough. I am still looking into that. Let me know what you think.

  • Depending upon where you are hanging the curtain, you might be able to use an expandable spring loaded shower curtain rod. Just wedge it between two walls and throw a blanket over it. Works great for a makeshift inside cloths hanger. Or buy a shower curtain with the round hooks that go around the rod and you have an instant curtain, and you can take it down when not needed. We did this is our Springdale to split the inside in half. Worked great for us.

Where did you get the track?
    Thanks,Mike

I got the track at a local RV dealer's parts dept. If I remember correct, it came in eight foot sections. Got the snap tape and curtain carriers at same place.

The curtain is a fabric shower curtain. DW sewed the snap tape onto the curtain.

The spacers, between the track and ceiling, are actually the same curtain carriers, used to carry the curtain on the track. They kept the curtain from rubbing on the ceiling.

Track comes in a straight piece. I got it to bend by cutting "V" notches (about 6 inches apart) in the back side.

Use screws that are just long enough to penetrate the 1/4 inch ceiling panel. Be careful of any wires that may be laying on top of the ceiling panel.

If the curtain needs laundering, it just unsnaps.
  • I found the wire curtain rod in IKEA that looks good (at least I found it online. We will see how it goes. As far as tents, the travel trailer is "new" to us and my kids do a lot of camping in tents with the scouts, so when we take the trailer out they like to be inside with us. When the new factor is over I am sure especially my sons will want the tent. Thanks for your help. I will post if it works out.

  • Our kids, with their friends, prefer a tent outside.
  • Accordion doors are a much nicer alternative to a curtain. Big box stores have them along with other places. You might also want to check with the MFG and see what they have as an option and where they get them. Then call their supplier and try to buy one directly from them.
  • IKEA has a really nice setup using hangers with a wire strung between two posts. Let me know if you need me to look up part numbers.

    Good luck,

    Norman
