I picked up Propane at;
$2.19 at the Tractor Supply Store in Buckley, WA
$2.13 at and Montana Propane in Helena, MT
$2.85 at Lone Pine Propane in Lone Pine, CA
$2.42 at Warren Energy Group in St George, UT
The lowest I have paid ($2.10), in 6 years, was at Northern Energy in Longmont Colorado. Sadly they are no longer in business as the land was developed into a shopping center as the town grew north. As a rule, I purchase my Propane in rural and small towns. I find these areas service their customers directly and are more customer friendly and always have the best prices. If you have an oppornity, try a small propane business as you are passing through the town, rather than wait until you are back home, if you live in a big city. Fill on the way back from a trip, if you can. Also, google; Propane St George Utah, in that order and you will find a good listing of nearby propane services and you can call them, ahead to learn the best prices. Have you bottles out and ready to fill, don't make them wait for you. Also, ask if that is the best price that they have and you might find a small town shop will be willing to shave off a few cents. For me, I am lucky as I typically pick up more than 40 gallons at a fill so I sometimes can get a quantity discount.
Stay warm and keep your bottles filled up, during the colder season.
