Proper tire pressure?
I have always run the tire pressure on my travel trailer according to what the tire indicates. My specific tire states a load in pounds (I think it is 1750) and then a tire pressure of 50psi. I keep the tires at 50 psi. I am running the standard ST tire.
A friend of mine says that he runs a pressure that “feels right” and that may not be the maximum pressure for the tire. He also said he runs 75 to 80 mph (on the interstate) and does not pay the 65 mph rating on the ST tire any mind. I have always tried to stay around 65 mph or less, because I always have been told a higher speed for more than just a minute or two could do permanent damage to the ST tires. I think the max pressure for his tires is around 90psi, and he is running something around 75 or so.
I am hoping for some opinions on this. Am I being too particular with my tires?
